Dear Phoenix Family,

At this point in November, as the leaves fall around us, you have probably noticed the lack of a season announcement from Phoenix for 2023 - 2024.

This fall at Phoenix, we’ve been looking back at our first decade with immense pride. Since our very first sold out show, we have performed over 50 concerts in venues all across Boston. We have played for thousands of people, many of whom were accessing classical music for the very first time.

With your help we have built a rock solid and brilliant band of supporters who have allowed us not only to survive but to thrive over these last 9 years. We are hugely proud of the impact we’ve made in our community and in the broader classical music world.

Concert after concert, program after program, and season after season, our little team has been sprinting since we hit the ground running in 2014. As with any passion project a decade in, the lives of our team are wildly different then when we started down this path. As we explore how Phoenix fits in with everything else happening in our evolving lives, our team has decided for personal reasons that now is the time to take a pause and catch our breath.

Phoenix is taking a sabbatical that will allow us to dream big and imagine vibrant, ambitious programs for the times we live in and gather our forces for an incredible Season 10 in the fall of 2024.

Call it Phoenix 3.0!

We know this may be distressing to our loyal listeners, but please do not worry, we will be back before you know it, and better than ever. It has been a joy beyond joys to perform for you over this last decade, and we can’t wait for the next 10 years.
