Phoenix Prime - Heavenly Life

Joshua Weilerstein, Conductor

Join us as Phoenix PRIME returns for drinks, music, and a big Phoenix first as we tackle the music of Gustav Mahler, who is known for his epic symphonic journeys.

This program marks a Phoenix first as we tackle the music of Gustav Mahler, who is known for his epic symphonic journeys. We pair Mahler’s most gentle work, his Fourth Symphony (arranged for chamber orchestra by Iain Farrington), with a short work by Franz Schreker, a highly underrated contemporary of Mahler whose career was cut short by the rise of the Nazi power.
